Job Description

Our firm is hiring an associate attorney (must be a member of the California State Bar) who will support us by conducting legal research, drafting documents, maintaining client files, and assisting with legal counsel. The ideal candidate will have some courtroom experience and strong legal research and writing skills. • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
• Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently
• Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
• Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys
• Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
• Collaborate with partners and other staff to move cases toward resolution efficiently
• Perform legal research and prepare legal memoranda, identify marks, and organize evidence to support the client's case, and prepare statements of facts for cases with citations to the evidence
• Billable Hour Requirement of 140 hours per month

Qualifications:

• Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school
• Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base
• Candidates must have passed the bar exam
• Active membership with the American Bar Association (ABA)
• Licensed to practice law in the State of California
• 2+ years of experience in Probate, Family, Business Litigation, or Trust Law
