OBJECTIVES / PURPOSE OF JOB
- The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility and maintenance operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive environment. This role leads the facilities and maintenance teams, manages day-to-day operations, and ensures compliance with all Quality Systems and Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) regulations.
- Key responsibilities include developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs, conducting regular facility inspections, managing budgets for facility and maintenance-related projects, and coordinating all maintenance and repair activities. The Facilities Manager serves as the primary point of contact for all facility & maintenance-related inquiries and represents the organization in interactions with vendors and contractors.
- This role requires close collaboration with various departments to ensure that facility and maintenance services align with organizational needs and expectations.
KEY ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership & Management:
- Develop, manage, and lead all facility and maintenance personnel.
- Align departmental goals with organizational objectives using SMART goals.
- Provide leadership to drive performance, safety, and efficiency within the department.
Budgeting & Planning:
- Prepare, manage, and monitor the annual facilities and maintenance budget.
- Source and manage local services and supplies through approved vendors to support daily operations.
Facilities & Equipment Oversight:
- Own the maintenance and appearance of all facility grounds, buildings, and equipment, ensuring they are kept in exemplary condition.
- Regularly inspect buildings, equipment, and sites to identify repair and maintenance needs.
- Specify, quote, and manage construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.
Emergency & Safety Management:
Serve as the primary on-call contact for all facility or maintenance-related emergencies.
Maintain safety and security programs for clients, employees, and staff, including:
- Access control and alarm systems
- Employee identification systems
- Visitor management and access procedures
Preventive Maintenance & Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance schedules and programs.
- Ensure execution of facilities and production maintenance operating procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities using the BMRAM system.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Support internal projects, including document review and supplier negotiations.
- Collaborate with EHS&S teams to ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and security requirements.
- Assist with emergency response activities as outlined in standard operating procedures (SOPs).
QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING
Education:
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in facilities or maintenance management.
- Proven leadership in site and multi-site security as well as employee safety programs.
- Extensive experience in manufacturing environments and facility operations.
Key Competencies & Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Proficient in project management, including budgeting and estimating.
- Solid electrical and mechanical systems knowledge.
