This job contributes to REI’s success by supporting the Program Manager with organizing and managing the “Merchandise Planning Transformation” (MPT) program. This program entails significant technology and business process transformation for the merchandising area of the REI Co-op and is a critical foundational enabler for both the Co-op’s ongoing operations as well as its planned strategic initiatives. This role involves developing and maintaining program documentation, tracking progress, reporting, risk management, coordination, and effective communication with the program team and collaborators. This person models and acts in accordance with REI’s guiding values and mission.

Responsibilities:
  • Manages and monitors project plan progress, schedules, and costs to ensure program is completed on time and effectively
  • Maintains comprehensive program documentation, including responsibility for the development and management of program/project plans, schedules, resources, deliverables, milestones, and tasks
  • Responsible for helping project communication as it relates to schedules, activity coordination, issue resolution, process improvement, and collaborator management
  • Prepares regular program status reports and updates to collaborators
  • Responsible for maintaining collaboration spaces (i.e. Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, etc.) and necessary documentation for the program
  • Partners to drive process improvement. Facilitate and drive issue resolution and process improvement for program activities
  • Coordinates and manages scheduling for program meetings and program events
  • Critically reviews new and existing program updates and insights to alert teams to possible roadblocks and missed deadlines
  • Suggests possible solutions, helps develop contingencies and ensures finalized documents are updated and communicated appropriately
  • Partners to develop, implement, and maintain project workflow processes and systems to maximize productivity and task completion, including the management of tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating project risks and issues
  • Coordinates and responds to general program questions and requests
  • Responsible for scribing and summarizing critical meeting minutes

Required

  • 3+ years of project coordination or PMO support experience in mid to large corporate environment.
  • 5+ years' experience or comparable educational background in a position demonstrating a proven ability to be effective in a highly unstructured, dynamic environment, working autonomously as well as a team member.
  • Proven ability to facilitate projects and motivate a team in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Successful experience working cross-divisionally and with all levels of management to accomplish goals and priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, Visio and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Successful work performance demonstrating an ability to work well with others, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgment and display initiative and innovation on the job.
  • Ability to multi-task, utilizing exceptional written and verbal communication skills while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.
  • Consolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound conclusions.

Base Pay Range: $28.08 - $42.21 per hour
